Part 26: Dave is Late for Work
Part 26: Dave is Late for Work
Panel 1:
- Visual: Dave bursts through the main office doors, looking completely disheveled. His tie is crooked, his hair is messy, and he’s clutching a travel mug and his briefcase. He looks panicked.
- Dave: “I’m so sorry! Traffic was a nightmare, and my alarm completely died!”
Panel 2:
- Visual: The main office floor. Sarah and Chloe are already at their desks, typing efficiently and sipping coffee. Buster the Golden Retriever is sitting upright next to the time clock, wearing a tiny clip-on tie, tapping his paw impatiently while staring at the wall clock.
- Sarah: (Without looking up) “You’re fifteen minutes late, Dave. The CEO has already noticed.”
Panel 3:
- Visual: Dave tries to tiptoe quietly past Cocoa’s glass-walled office. Cocoa (the Siamese cat) is sitting squarely in the middle of the doorway, blocking his path. She is staring up at him with intense, unblinking, judgmental eyes.
- Cocoa: “Tardiness is a choice, David. And I do not tolerate poor choices.”
Panel 4:
- Visual: The consequence. Dave is hunched over awkwardly at his desk, typing on his keyboard while sitting on a tiny, uncomfortable wooden step-stool. Cocoa is curled up, fast asleep and completely comfortable in Dave’s premium ergonomic office chair. Buster is standing nearby, looking highly amused.
- Dave: (Whispering) “Can I at least have my lumbar support back?”
- Caption: At WhiskerCart, punctuality is strictly enforced by management.
