Part Eighteen – New Hiring
Panel 1:
- Visual: The WhiskerCart waiting room. Five or six nervous human candidates are sitting in chairs, sweating and clutching their resumes. Buster is sitting in the middle of the room, staring intensely at them, acting as the “security guard.”
- Candidate 1: (Whispering) “Why is the dog just staring at my soul?”
Panel 2:
- Visual: The door to Cocoa’s office opens. Cocoa steps out, looking stern in her tiny business suit. She points a paw at a young, nervous woman (let’s call her Chloe).
- Cocoa: “You. The one with the lint on your sweater. You’re next.”
Panel 3:
- Visual: Inside Cocoa’s office. Chloe is sitting across from Cocoa. Cocoa is staring at her with unblinking, intense eyes. On the desk between them is a full glass of water.
- Chloe: (Sweating) “So, um, what are the core values of WhiskerCart?”
Panel 4:
- Visual: Cocoa slowly pushes the glass of water off the desk. Smash! It shatters on the floor. Chloe doesn’t flinch; she just calmly pulls out a notepad. Cocoa looks deeply impressed.
- Cocoa: “You didn’t flinch. And you’re already taking notes on the mess. You’re hired. Start Monday.”
